Soon after, they find themselves haunted by a grotesque black magic curse contained within a mysterious book. The Verdict: If the first segment is classic ghost horror, the second is aggressive, stylized panic. Director Paween (who later directed Phobia 2’s hilarious "In the Middle" segment) injects a frantic, music-video energy into the film. The visuals are grotesque and splashy, reminiscent of Japanese horror like The Grudge but with a distinct Thai flavor of black magic.
