Part 3: Step-by-Step UPD Implementation Workflow
Step 1: Model Setup in AVL Boost GUI
- Open your Boost workspace and build a standard 4-stroke SI engine model.
- Double-click the Cylinder element.
- In the combustion model dropdown, instead of selecting "Vibe," choose User.
- A new tab appears: User Model. Here you will specify the name of your UPD routine (e.g.,
MY_BURN_RATE).
- Crucially: Set the Number of User Parameters. For a custom burn rate you might need 5 parameters (e.g., start of combustion, duration, shape factors).
