7. Maintenance: Battery and Fuse Replacement

The Craftsman 82082 requires minimal but critical maintenance.

  1. Insert leads as above.
  2. Turn dial to the Diode symbol (→▷).
  3. Connect black lead to the cathode (striped end) and red lead to the anode (non-striped end).
  4. A good silicon diode reads between 0.4V to 0.8V. Reverse the leads; a good diode shows "OL" (no conduction).
