7. Maintenance: Battery and Fuse Replacement
The Craftsman 82082 requires minimal but critical maintenance.
- DC voltage (VDC): Measure DC voltage from 0.1V to 1000V.
- AC voltage (VAC): Measure AC voltage from 1V to 750V.
- DC current (DCA): Measure DC current from 0.1mA to 10A.
- AC current (ACA): Measure AC current from 0.1mA to 10A.
- Resistance (Ω): Measure resistance from 0.1Ω to 200MΩ.
- Insert leads as above.
- Turn dial to the Diode symbol (→▷).
- Connect black lead to the cathode (striped end) and red lead to the anode (non-striped end).
- A good silicon diode reads between 0.4V to 0.8V. Reverse the leads; a good diode shows "OL" (no conduction).
