Before attempting an update, it is crucial to understand the current situation with Evpad devices (especially models like the EV3, 4, and 5).

    If your device hangs on the logo or shows error codes after an update, you may need a manual "flash" rather than an OTA update. In these cases: evpad update firmware

    : Select "Check for Updates." If a new firmware version is available, the system will prompt you to download and install it. Safety steps:

    1. Find the correct firmware. Go to a trusted forum (like EVPadTalk or CodeMod) and download the update.zip specific to your exact model number (look on the bottom sticker: EQP-6P, EQP-5S, etc.). Do not mix models.
    2. Format a USB stick to FAT32 (not NTFS or exFAT). EVPad bootloaders only read FAT32.
    3. Copy the update.zip to the root of the USB drive (not inside a folder).
    4. Insert the USB into the EVPad.
    5. Go to Settings > System Update > Local Update (or "Update from USB").
    6. Select the file. The system will verify the MD5 checksum and flash.
