Digital Combat Simulator (DCS World) is the premier flight simulator on the market. While the base platform is free (which includes a free jet trainer and the TF-51 Mustang), you can purchase the F-16C Viper module.

While MSFS is not a combat simulator, the F-16 add-on from SC Designs is perfect for aerobatic and cross-country flights. A new version released in November 2024 includes:

• Fly-by-wire flight control system for agility.
• Radar: AN/APG-series radars (e.g., APG-68) on earlier blocks; AESA upgrades (e.g., APG-83 SABR) for newer blocks.
• Helmet-mounted cueing systems and head-up displays (HUD); advanced glass cockpits on later variants.
