HALion Sonic 2 is a legacy workstation by Steinberg that transitioned from the older eLicenser system to a modern licensing model. As of early 2025, Steinberg has officially ended support for eLicenser-based products. Licensing Status & Availability

1. Open Steinberg Activation Manager: You can find this in your Applications folder (Mac) or Start Menu (Windows).
2. Sign In: Log in with your Steinberg ID.
3. Enter Download Access Code:
   • Your product will enter "Maintenance Mode" or simply stop playing sound.
   • Your entire Steinberg ID account could be suspended. If you own Cubase or other legitimate plugins, you lose them too.
   • No appeals. Steinberg is famously strict about license fraud.
