Models Vol 151: Maxtree Plant
Maxtree Plant Models Vol 151 – Ornamental Plants & Hedges Maxtree has released Plant Models Vol 151

Performance & Render Tests
- VRay 6 / 3ds Max: Instant proxy loading. No material re-linking needed. Render times for a bare forest scene were ~20% faster than an equivalent leafed forest due to lack of translucency calculations.
- Corona 10: Handles opacity maps without flickering. The "thin branches" material preset is recommended.
- Unreal Engine 5 (via FBX): Works well after nanite conversion, but the fine twigs may require LOD generation.
Cons
- No Leafed Variants – If you need spring/summer versions, you must create leaves yourself or purchase a separate volume. This is a dedicated winter pack.
- Limited Species – 12 species is narrower than Maxtree’s usual 15–18. Missing common winter interest plants like Acer bare branches or Hydrangea panicles.
- Heavy on Opacity Maps – Some fine twig clusters use large alpha planes, which can slightly increase render memory if used in massive arrays (though still manageable).
- C4D Version – While present, the Cinema 4D files lack the parametric controls of the GrowFX versions.
