Orbitor Prospector 100 Metal Detector Manual -
Orbitor Prospector 100 is a beginner-level "science toy" metal detector often found in hobby or educational kits
- Set Discrimination to "0" (All Metal).
- Find a patch of ground with no metal (test by sweeping).
- Pump the coil from 1 inch to 8 inches off the ground.
- Listen closely. If the tone gets LOUDER as you lift the coil, the ground is highly mineralized.
- Fix: Turn the Sensitivity down slowly until the "up/down" tone signal disappears.
Batteries: If the machine emits constant erratic signals or the volume is low, check your 9V batteries immediately. Orbitor Prospector 100 Metal Detector Manual
- Remove the wing nut and bolt from the coil yoke.
- Place the coil onto the yoke. Do not overtighten. The coil should be able to pivot slightly when pushed.
- Wrap the coil cable tightly around the lower stem, leaving a little slack near the coil.
- Secure the cable with the provided velcro straps. Critical warning from manual: Do not let the cable flop over the coil—this causes false signals.
