PixelTools hueShift DCTL Plug-In – Feature Summary
Core Functionality
A DaVinci Resolve DCTL (Digital Cinema Tool Language) plugin for precise, non‑destructive hue shifting within specific color ranges.
How to Use the hueShift DCTL (Parameters Explained)
Once you drag the hueShift effect onto a node, you will see a minimalist interface—usually just 4 to 6 sliders. Here is what each control does:
- Creative color grading: Shift skin-adjacent hues slightly for flattering tones, or push skies/vegetation into stylized palettes. Use a node dedicated to hueShift early or late depending on whether you want the transform to affect primary corrections or be affected by them.
- Plate matching: When two shots of the same scene have hue offsets (e.g., different white-balance tint), use selective hueShift on relevant ranges (mid‑tones, highlights) to achieve visual continuity.
- Fixing tint issues: If footage exhibits a subtle tint across the image, a small global hue shift can neutralize it more intuitively than adjusting lift/gamma/gain independently.
- VFX prep: For green/blue screen cleanup, hueShift can desaturate spill or move problem hues to less intrusive values before keying.
Refresh and Apply: In Resolve, click Update Lists or restart the application. Apply the "DCTL" effect from the OpenFX library to a node and select PixelTools hueShift from the dropdown menu. PixelTools hueShift DCTL Plug-In.zip

Strengths of a DCTL hueShift Plug-In
PixelTools Hue/Shift™ DCTL is a specialized look development toolkit for DaVinci Resolve designed to manipulate colors using a "filmic" subtractive saturation model. Unlike standard saturation tools that increase luminance as colors get more saturated, Hue/Shift mimics physical film by decreasing luminance (density) as saturation increases, resulting in richer, more natural tones.
