If you are still rocking the classic DS titles (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, White, B2/W2), you know the struggle. But in 2026, we aren’t playing vanilla randomizers anymore. We are updating them.
Why the "UPD" Matters
The latest update (version 2.1.0 as of late 2023) fixes critical bugs found in earlier builds (2.0.4 and prior). Key improvements include:
- Randomlocke: A hybrid challenge combining a Randomizer (wild/trainer Pokemon, items, moves, and types are shuffled) with a Nuzlocke (permadeath, first encounter only, mandatory nicknames).
- DS: Refers to Nintendo DS titles—the golden age of Pokemon. This includes Gen 4 (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver) and Gen 5 (Black, White, Black 2, White 2).
- UPD (Update): This is crucial. The randomizer tools have seen significant updates in the last two years. Older guides refer to deprecated versions. The latest updates (as of late 2024/early 2025) include better support for Black 2/White 2 challenge mode, refined evolution fixes, and "similar strength" sliders to prevent game-breaking early route wipes.
