Ps3 Pkg And Rap Files Install Updated

Installing PKG and RAP files is the primary method for adding digital games, DLC, and applications to a modded PlayStation 3 running Custom Firmware (CFW) Definitions PKG (.pkg):

Preparation (USB)

  1. On your PC, create a folder named PS3 on the USB drive root.
  2. Inside PS3, create a folder named EXPORT and another named USRDIR (used by some homebrew — optional).
  3. For .pkg files: create PS3/PKG and put .pkg files there (some systems accept root PS3/UPDATE as well; PKG is standard for installers).
  4. For .rap files: create PS3/EXDATA and place .rap files there.

  • On OFW (official firmware), only PSN-signed packages can install. Homebrew and backup installers require CFW or signed pkg installers.
  • If "Install Package Files" is missing, your PS3 firmware likely blocks unsigned pkgs—CFW or enabling package installs is needed.
