When you first walk onto a naturist beach, your heart races. You expect stares. But within ten minutes, you realize no one cares. You see bodies of all kinds: mastectomy scars, prosthetic limbs, stretch marks, cellulite, sagging skin, hairy backs, and thin, reedy limbs. In seeing real bodies, you realize your own is unremarkably normal.
While Body Positivity focuses on loving one's body, many find this standard unrealistic. A growing subset, Body Neutrality, focuses on accepting the body as a functional vessel rather than an aesthetic object.
