REAPER ReaPlugs x64 — Installation Tutorial

This tutorial shows how to download, install, and make best use of the ReaPlugs VST FX suite (x64) on a 64-bit Windows system and how to use those plugs inside a DAW. Assumptions: you’re on Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and want the ReaPlugs VST3/VST2 x64 installers for use with a host (Reaper, Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cakewalk, etc.). If you need another OS, say so.

  1. Stability: Newer versions of REAPER (v6, v7) have updated ReaPlugs, but the VST versions sometimes lag. Version 236 is a known quantity. It has been battle-tested in thousands of professional mixing sessions.
  2. Simplicity: The interface has not changed dramatically. Tutorials from 2014 are still accurate today.
  3. No iLok / Licensing servers: Unlike Waves or Plugin Alliance, ReaPlugs never call home. They work offline, forever, for free.
  4. Lightweight: The entire suite is smaller than a single sample from a Kontakt library.
