- The Glycemic Magic System: Casting spells consumes blood sugar. If you cast a fireball without eating rice first, you go into "Hypoglycemic Rage," where you randomly destroy your own crops.
- The Flooding Cycle: Rice paddies require standing water. The Verdant Maw has a tide system. If you don't build your dikes correctly, your magic seedlings will drown. If you build them too high, the Tidal Lurkers (eel-people) will steal your fertilizer.

In We Have No Rice, you do not have a backpack. Your character wears traditional, loose-fitting magical robes. The developers (MisoPixel Studios) decided that "pockets break immersion." Instead, all your seeds, tools, and magical fertilizer are stored in a single slot called the Waist Sash.
Stamina Management: Every action (tilling, watering, exploring) consumes stamina. Always keep some food in your inventory to avoid passing out, which usually results in lost progress or items.
Release Status: The "New" update recently added the much-requested "Irrigation Channel" system, finally allowing players to grow basic grain alternatives, though true Rice remains a legendary, end-game drop.
