This paper examines the role of Zmajeva kugla (Dragon Ball) in shaping childhood media consumption, moral frameworks, and social interactions across the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s and early 2000s. Unlike Western markets where Dragon Ball arrived as part of a broader anime wave, in the Balkans it became a singular, localized phenomenon.
